Peanut Butter Loaf

Simple to make and very moist. My hubby likes to slice and toast it.

Step: 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x4 inch baking pan.

Step: 2

Sift together flour, soda and salt. In a large bowl, cream sugar and peanut butter together. Beat in egg and vanilla until smooth. Stir in flour and milk alternately, beating until smooth after each addition. Spoon batter into prepared pan.

Step: 3

Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, until well browned. Remove from the pan to cool. Store in a covered container.

The best flavour of the flour can make a real difference to your bread. Different brands do vary. Extra-strong or Canadian flours, which are naturally higher in gluten, may give you a better rise than standard bread flours – especially if you’re make wholemeal dough , which doesn’t always getting bigger as well as white bread.

To make this in a dough , add all the menus to your breadmaker and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

A bread first rising can be done in the fridge overnight . This slows down the time it takes to rise to double its size, giving it a deeper flavour. It’s also a great timesaver , as you can work it yesterday , then clear it off the next day.
