Golden Oatmeal Muffins

These Golden Oatmeal Muffins, made with Duncan Hines Golden Yellow Cake Mix, are absolutely delicious – especially when served warm with a little butter. Why not also try them with your favorite preserves?

Step: 1

Preheat oven to 400 F. Grease 24 muffin cups or line with paper baking cups.

Step: 2

Combine cake mix, oats and salt in large bowl. Add milk, eggs and melted butter; stir until moistened. Fill muffin cups two-thirds full.

Step: 3

Bake 13 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan 5 to 10 minutes. Loosen carefully before removing from pan. Serve with honey or your favorite jam.

The quality of the flour can make a real deal to your bread. Different makers do vary. Extra-strong or Canadian flours, which are bet higher in gluten, may give you a better rise than standard bread flours – especially if you’re making wholemeal dough , which not always rise as well as white bread.

To made this in a breadmaker , add all the menus to your breadmaker and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

A bread first rising can be done in the fridge 24 hours . This slows down the time it takes to rise to double its size, giving it a deeper flavour. It’s also a great limit , as you can work it night before , then clear it off the next day.
