Chocolate Walnut Loaf

A rich chocolaty bread, chock full of nuts and chips.

Step: 1

All ingredients should be at room temperature, about 80 degrees F (25 degrees C). Place all ingredients (except the walnuts and chocolate chips) in the bread machine pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer. Select the White or Basic Bread and Light Crust settings, and Start.

Step: 2

At the Fruit and Nut beep (or 5 minutes before the end of the last kneading cycle), add the walnuts and chocolate chips.

Step: 3

Remove from pan immediately at end of bake cycle, let cool and slice.

The quality of the flour could make a real deal to your bread. Different brands do vary. Great taste or Canadian flours, which are bet higher in gluten, may give you a better rise than standard dough flours – especially if you’re make wholemeal dough , which doesn’t always getting bigger as well as clear bread.

To make this in a breadmaker , add all the ingredients to your breadmaker and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

A bread first rising can be done in the fridge overnight . This slows down the time it takes to rise to double its size, giving it a deeper flavour. It’s also a great timesaver , as you can work it night before , then finish it off the next day.
