Brown Bears

My kids love making these brown bear biscuits for breakfast whenever we go camping. They’re super simple and no prep for mom!

Step: 1

Mix cinnamon and sugar together in a bowl. Pour melted butter into another bowl. Separate biscuits and form each piece of dough into a rope 4 to 5 inches long. Wrap the dough pieces around sticks.

Step: 2

Hold sticks over campfire and slowly turn until the biscuit dough is browned and set, 8 to 10 minutes. Dip biscuits into melted butter and then into cinnamon sugar. Eat biscuits from sticks.

The best flavour of the flour could make a real difference to your bread. Different makers do vary. Great taste or Canadian flours, which are naturally higher in gluten, may give you a best rise than standard bread flours – especially if you’re make wholemeal dough , which not always rise as well as white bread.

To make this in a dough , add all the ingredients to your breadmaker and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

A dough’s first rising can be done in the fridge 24 hours . This slows down the time it takes to rise to double its size, giving it a deeper flavour. It’s also a great timesaver , as you can work it night before , then finish it off the next day.
