A healthy choice for bread lovers!!



Step: 1

Combine whole wheat flour and yeast in a large bowl. Stir in sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and water. Stir in anise seeds. Let dough stand in warm area for 1 hour, letting bread rise.

Step: 2

Knead bread and put in 2 regular loaf pans. Brush tops with beaten egg whites.

Step: 3

Bake at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) for 50 minutes. Enjoy!

The quality of the flour can make a real deal to your bread. Different makers do vary. Great taste or Canadian flours, which are naturally higher in gluten, may give you a best rise than standard bread flours – especially if you’re making wholemeal dough , which doesn’t always getting bigger as well as white bread.

To make this in a breadmaker , add all the ingredients to your breadmaker and follow the makers instructions.

A bread first rising can be make in the fridge overnight . This slows down the time it takes to rise to double its size, giving it a deeper flavour. It’s also a great limit , as you can start it night before , then finish it off the next day.
