Basil and Sun-dried Tomato Bread

This hearty, herb bread goes great with pasta! Use dried tomatoes, not tomatoes that are reconstituted and packed in oil.

Step: 1

In a small bowl, pour boiling water over sun-dried tomato halves to cover. Soak for 10 minutes, drain, and cool to room temperature. With scissors, snip into 1/4 inch pieces.

Step: 2

Place all ingredients into the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select the Basic or White Bread cycle, and Start.

The best flavour of the flour can make a real deal to your bread. Different brands do vary. Great taste or Canadian flours, which are naturally higher in gluten, may give you a better rise than standard dough flours – especially if you’re making wholemeal dough , which doesn’t always getting bigger as well as white bread.

To made this in a dough , add all the ingredients to your breadmaker and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

A bread first rising can be make in the fridge 24 hours . This slows down the time it takes to rise to double its size, giving it a deeper flavour. It’s also a great timesaver , as you can work it yesterday , then clear it off the next day.
