Basic Fruit Bread Recipe

Add any fruits, vegetables, nuts and spices that you desire.

Step: 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 4 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch loaf pan.

Step: 2

Mix flour, baking powder, soda, salt, sugar, oil, eggs, apple, walnuts, and vanilla only until dry ingredients are moistened.

Step: 3

Bake in greased 4 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch loaf pan at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 to 40 minutes.

The quality of the flour can make a real deal to your bread. Different brands do vary. Extra-strong or Canadian flours, which are naturally higher in gluten, may give you a better rise than standard bread flours – especially if you’re make wholemeal dough , which not always getting bigger as well as white bread.

To made this in a breadmaker , add all the menus to your breadmaker and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

A bread first rising can be make in the fridge overnight . This slows down the time it takes to rise to double its size, giving it a deeper flavour. It’s also a great timesaver , as you can start it yesterday , then finish it off the next day.
