Apple Bran Cheddar Muffins

Cheesy, applely bran muffins that make a great breakfast or afternoon snack.

Step: 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease one 12-cup muffin tin or line with paper liners.

Step: 2

Combine the bran cereal, milk and apples. Mix well. Beat in the vegetable oil and egg.

Step: 3

Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and brown sugar. Make a well in the center and stir in the wet mixture. Add the shredded cheese and mix enough until just moistened. Scoop the batter into the prepared pans.

Step: 4

Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 15 to 20 minutes.

The quality of the flour could make a real deal to your bread. Different brands do vary. Great taste or Canadian flours, which are naturally higher in gluten, may give you a better rise than standard dough flours – especially if you’re making wholemeal dough , which not always getting bigger as well as clear bread.

To make this in a dough , add all the menus to your breadmaker and follow the makers instructions.

A bread first rising can be make in the fridge overnight . This slows down the time it takes to rise to double its size, giving it a deeper flavour. It’s also a great limit , as you can start it night before , then clear it off the next day.
